 "Going Green" / Nigeria Fashion Week 2011

monu & monu Fashion presented one outfit for the "Going Green" Initiative of the Nigeria Fashion Week on Friday, November 18 2011 in Lagos. The design is named "Voodoo Queen" and was made 100% out of Recyceled materials, such as Plastic-carrier bags, Black binliners, Wire, Doornob, Broomstick and much more.

CNN's Johannesburg based correspondent Robyn Curnow did an interview with Nick and Simone Monu before the show, investigating the inspiration and future attempt / importance of using recyceled materials for their designs.

Nigeria Fashion Week 2011

monu & monu Fashion presented itself with the "African Classic" Collection at the Nigeria Fashion Week on November 19, 2011 in Lagos / Nigeria.

All outfits incorporated traditional African materials, like handwoven strip cloth, Cotton-prints, Tye-n-dye and African Lace. The 15 ladies outfits shocaesed ranged from Casual, Corporate to Festive and Bridal Garments, always complimented with an Headtie or veil - the crown of African women.
